explores the dual nature of human relationships, where care and cooperation can bring comfort but also become threats when withdrawn. The work centers on two symbolic applewood spoons, separated during their creation to reflect themes of connection, dependence, and separation. One spoon pierces architectural elements, symbolizing division, estrangement, and the tension between destruction and protection. The other, charred and resting on a bed of charcoal, represents transformation, resilience, and renewal through loss. Inspired by Sartre’s Huis Clos and the allegory of long spoons, the project reflects on how relationships can be both salvation and torment, revealing the delicate balance between unity and isolation.
