Since 2013, the roaming pop-up gallery PUNKT enlivened vacant spaces in Frankfurt with diverse artistic positions. With the project space "Umweg," initiator Hannibal Tarkan Daldaban and gallerist Setareh Alipour aimed to reflect current changes and trends in society, art, and design.
"Umweg" offered creatives presentation venues for their work. Under the motto "Corona - everyone stays at home, we don't have one," invited artists had the opportunity to create installations in both analog and digital spaces. These works were exhibited biweekly until the end of the year.
Cooperation, leisure, and communication were central themes of the project space. Through unspectacularly spectacular actions, perspectives that are easily overlooked in everyday life were highlighted. "Umweg" served as a space for possibilities and discussions within the social context, inviting reflection and dialogue.
